The 1st Centralino Discovery, Innovation, and Invention Challenge was held recently to strengthen MCU’s capacity in research and development. It showcased the discoveries, innovations and inventions of its students and faculty.

IMPROVISED ELECTRONIC MAGNIFIER FOR READING
and Personal Grooming of Low Vision Patients


The study aims to create an electronic magnifier for reading and personal grooming needs of low vision patients through the enhancement of image perception. The study applied the principle of magnification using an ordinary monitor and high magnification camera to produce the desired size of an image. The device was tested and evaluated by Optometry interns, clinicians and low vision respondents.
