MCU’s English Language Enhancement Program (ELEP): Opening doors to a bright future

Based on the results of the Placement and Diagnostic Evaluation Test, foreign students’ proficiency levels are assessed into: beginner, intermediate, and advanced. Both the Intermediate and Advanced levels run for a total of forty-five (45) each prior to the issuance of Certificate of Completion. Classes may be taken during the Summer Break by special arrangements.

The program adopts a learner-centered, interactive, skills-integrated, and content-based approach. It aims to unlock difficulties of students who do not speak English as their other tongue. At the end of program, students are expected to:

  1. Communicate ideas clearly in tasks relevant to specific discipline using authentic materials.
