“Extending a helping hand must not be selective. It is by all means, collective to be able to reach as many people as possible,” Rev. Fr. Andreas Chang, Director of Joseph Clinic Philippines said.
This Fr. Chang said during the signing of a Commitment of Support between MCU, Joseph Clinic and Birhen ng Luhan Parish last November 16, 2018 at the MCU Vertical Auditorium.
With the theme “Hawak-Kamay, Kaagapay” the participating institutions established an agreement to improve the barangay residents health care, education, and economic conditions.
The MCU University Integrated Community Extension Programs and Services (UNICEPS) is the MCU organization that reaches out to the community in need of moral, technical and financial assistance to improve their living conditions.
The UNICEPS volunteers protect and improve the community by the development and promotion of physical and mental health through learning experiences in an actual community setting.
The organization creates social awareness among the community members and students and faculty members of MCU. UNICEPS consistently spearheads various community outreach programs at different barangays in Caloocan and nearby areas.
Representatives from Joseph Clinic, Birhen ng Luhan Parish, Baranggay Maysilo and Baranggay 143 Bagong Barrio were present to pledge their support to the community programs established by MCU.
Dr. Ramon C. Cercado, Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Renato C. Tanchoco, Jr., Vice President for Planning and External Affairs, deans, department heads, UNICEPS coordinators, and students were present during the signing.
