MCU Basic Education (BEd) students romped off with medals in the 2017 Palarong Pansangay Caloocan City Division Meet last November 28 and 29, 2017 at Philippine Sports Complex in Pasig City.

Palarong Pansangay is a qualifying round for division schools where winners will advance to the next level regional meet.
Kyle Raphaeal B. Castro, a Grade 6 student, bagged 4 gold medals in 50 and 100 meters both in back stroke and freestyle categories, finishing with a silver in the 200 meter individual medley.

Castro, back-to-back with Bien Ver Santos Jr., Grade 11, won silver medals in the 400 and 200 meter freestyle, 200 meter backstroke and individual medley, and 100 meter back stroke.

Also advancing to the regional meet or Palarong NCR is Hanna Rafflyn S. Sales who won 3 gold medals in the 100 meter breast stroke, 200 meter individual medley, 50 meter breast stroke, Silver in 100 and 50 meter butterfly.

Angel Ann M. Abanto, a Grade 12 student, won a gold medal in 200 meter breast stroke, a silver in the 100 meter breast stroke, and a bronze in 200 meter butterfly and 400 meter freestyle during the championship match of the competition.

Abanto and Sales also showcased their exemplary performance as they both competed in the 126th Philippine Swimming League National Series 12th Sen. Nikki Coseteng Short Course Swimming competition last November 25, 2017.

Abanto bagged a gold medal in 100 meter butterfly, a silver in both 100 meter backstroke and 50 meter freestyle, and bronze in 100 meter breast stroke.

Meanwhile, Sales also won a silver in breast stroke, and 4 bronze medals in freestyle, back stroke butterfly, and individual medley categories.
