Manila Central University College of Nursing signed a Memorandum of Agreement with the Philippine Red Cross (PRC) Caloocan City chapter to formalize MCU as Red Cross partner school in training and teaching for health professionals in Caloocan City.

With the agreement, MCU will be the pioneer in the establishment of the Red Cross Institute for Public Health Emergencies.

Signing the Agreement were Dr. Ramon C. Cercado, MCU Executive Vice President and Atty. Oscar P. Palabyab Secretary General of the PRC last December 21, 2017 at the SM City North EDSA Skydome during the Red Cross Partners in Service Day.

MCU Nursing students will be immersed in extensive community-based emergency and disaster management as part of their community related learning experience. The students will be a part of the PRC’s national pool of student-volunteers.

Among those who witnessed the signing were Mr. Roberto R. Dacles, PRC Chapter Administrator, Prof. Melvin Miranda, Dean of the MCU College of Nursing, and members of the Board of Directors of PRC Caloocan City Chapter.
