Over 100 MCU scholars were acknowledged during the Scholars Recognition Ceremony last February 23, 2017 at the LRC Vertical Auditorium. The scholars and their parents received scholarship certificates from Dr. Ramon C. Cercado, Executive Vice President and their respective deans. The awardees consist of University Entrance Scholars and Filemon D. Tanchoco Academic Scholars. Brian Brinces, an MCU Pharmacy graduate and now a College of Medicine scholar said in his inspirational message, “Scholarship is a prestige, a privilege and a lifestyle. It is a fruit of hard work, perseverance and dedication of young minds aiming for excellence.” Brinces graduated cum laude in 2016 and placed 5th overall in the June 2016 Pharmacist Licensure Exam. “Scholars are always competitive,” Brinces said “They are on top of the class and students of excellence but despite this, they must share their knowledge with other.” The annual recognition is attended by the university officials, students, deans and department heads.
