COLLEGE OF COMPUTER STUDIES

The college is looking forward in molding experts in computer science, information technology, and information management, equipping its students to become tomorrow’s leaders in industry, academe and government locally and internationally.

MISSION:

The mission of CCS is to foster and enhance interdisciplinary research and education in computing across the Manila Central University. Since its inception, CCS has played a major role at the university in building in building strong interdisciplinary research programs, cutting-edge computing infrastructure.

The mission is being carried out through:
  1. Molding of experts in computer science, information technology and information management, equipping its students to become tomorrow’s leaders in industry, academe and government.
  2. Development of nationally visible interdisciplinary research program led jointly by the faculty of CCS and other units in the campus.
  3. Establishment of state-of-the-art computing infrastructure and laboratories.
  4. A strong outreach program and the pursuit of partnership with other academic, government, private and industrial research laboratories.
OBJECTIVES:

  1. Recruit outstanding faculty with other units, targeting in particular the following areas:
    • Computer Vision and Graphics;
    • Networking and Computer Security, with a special emphasis on wireless and mobile computing;
    • Systems middleware, databases, and embedded systems, with a possible emphasis on electronic commerce.
  2. Staff Development:
    • Provide training opportunities to enhance overall technical and professional skills as needed;
    • Create a better environment to facilitate collaboration and improve communication and information exchange among staff and between staff and faculty;
    • Ensure staff participation in planning of new activities.
