Dynamic changes brought about by the formulation and implementation of specific programs are the priorities for school year 2008 – 2009 to ensure that MCU will continuously fulfill its mission of providing quality education to students.

   This Dr. Aristotle T. Malabanan, Executive Vice President, said as he summed up the Administration’s plans and expectations for the school year. Dr. Malabanan revealed a five-point program that promotes the students and faculty’s academic competency, growth and development.

   First is the implementation of an innovative University student recruitment program for the years to come. The school has lined up a year-round recruitment plan that runs parallel to the different Colleges’ respective programs that they put together last year. Related to this, is the Administration’s continuing recruitment of qualified faculty and staff. The Administration has drawn measures to boost the faculty members’ professional growth and development.

   Second is the development of an effective curriculum that will train students into becoming well-rounded and competitive professionals. Education is a continuing process and adapting to change is necessary to enhance the students’ competitiveness in the Philippine and worldwide job market

   Another priority is MCU’s desire to serve as a change agent that will benefit the society as a whole. Dr. Malabanan mentions as the third program, the strengthening of the University’s research capabilities with the end in view of discovering new things that can help mankind.

   Fourth are programs to increase the MCU students’ board performance and examination results. The University different colleges have continuously surpassed the national passing average for board exams. This the school seeks to maintain and further improve.

   Last but not the least, is the continuous improvement of the school facilities. Improvement, repair and maintenance of the school’s facilities are a paramount concern of the Administration. The school authorities are determined to provide facilities that are conducive to learning and other student activities.

   In addition, Dr. Malabanan gave specific mention on activities that will cater to the students’ overall development and interests. He urged students to join official school organizations and actively participate in activities such as sports. He revealed that a sports program is currently being mapped out to improve the school’s sports and physical fitness activities.
